Covid 19 Protocol
This protocol has been devised based on the strict guidelines laid down by the General Council for Massage Therapists to which I have to comply as closely as possible.
Please read this information carefully. I know it’s a bit long winded but with rising numbers of Covid 19 cases it is essential that as much care is taken not to spread the disease and to provide as safe an environment as possible for all my clients. As mentioned in the Visiting Protocol you’ll be asked to remain in your car and to give me a text or call to let me know you’ve arrived. This is in case you’ve parked in someone else’s drive and avoids you knocking on the wrong door. I have a duty of care to protect my neighbours as well as my clients and family.
Prior to each visit please complete the Covid 19 Declaration Form no longer than 24hrs before your appointment.
You’ll be asked to remove your shoes and overcoat if wearing one on entering the front door. A hand sanitiser will be provided for you use before entering the treatment room/studio. On entering the room I will bring your attention to the Covid 19 QR code which you can scan using the NHS Track and Trace App on your phone. I recommend downloading the app and registering yourself on it prior to your appointment if you haven’t already done so. If this isn’t possible please know that I am required to share your contact details with the NHS Track and Trace if I test positive for Covid 19 or have been informed that I have to self isolate. I will also need to take your temperature before we continue. I will take my own temperature twice a day and record it, and I will also provide you with a written declaration that I am not feeling unwell on that day. I am required to take a lateral flow test twice a week and the results will be recorded on the NHS Track and Trace service. I will also record them myself. If, for any reason you have not received a Covid 19 vaccination or have only received one vaccination you will be required to take a lateral flow test and have a negative result within 24 hours before your appointment.
Hygiene
My hands will be washed thoroughly before each treatment and I will be wearing a surgical mask, visor, apron and gloves. The room and apparatus will have received a deep clean before your visit and the air refreshed for 30mins following the last appointment. The room will be well ventilated and an air purifier with a HEPA filter will be operating.
Toilet Facilities
I would recommend that you always to go to the toilet before visiting to avoid the need to go during the treatment. However, in the real world I know a toilet visit is often unavoidable.
Unfortunately, we only have one toilet in the house. As clients are not allowed to come into contact with other householders you will only be able to access the toilet by walking around the house and enter the back door through which you have a more direct route through the kitchen to the toilet. Please remove your shoes in the porch before walking through the kitchen. A sheet of kitchen paper will be provided for you to operate the door handle and latch.
In the toilet a disposable seat cover will be provided which you can later flush down the toilet as well as a client soap dispenser and paper towels which you can dispose of in the bin provided. Although the toilet will be deep cleaned after your visit, please make your best effort to contact as few surfaces as possible and to give the taps a wash after using them. You can then use another paper towel to operate the door handle on the way out.
